FAQ.

What can you do to assure the safety of you and your family after the installation?

  • Do not drive the vehicle until the adhesive cures.
  • Make sure you use a reputable auto glass service company. The National Glass
        Association certifies auto glass technicians. Ask for the technician's
        certification ID card. Check the expiration date.
  • What training do they have in proper auto glass installation?
  • Ask what adhesives they use. Is it urethane? Does it meet governmental and
        vehicle manufacturer's standards?
  • Do they follow the AGRSS/ANSI Standard?
  • In what conditions will the installation be performed? Controlled conditions or
        mobile?
  • What warranties are offered?
  • How long will the vehicle be unusable? Look for a specific time frame.
  • If time is important, ask for special fast curing urethane. But be aware, the
        additional cost of this product may be your responsibility.

    What can I do after the installation to promote faster cure?

  • Add moisture. Do not put the vehicle through a high-pressure car wash. But,
        you should wash the vehicle with a mild flowing hose. Even put the lawn
        sprinkler on it. Put warm moist towels on the windshield area. Anything you
        can to add warm moist conditions.
  • Add warmth. Park in the sun or heated garage.
  • Use your floor heater instead of your defroster.
  • Leave a side window, sunroof or vents slightly open to allow air flow to
        circulate. It allows for air to escape when slamming doors.

He was one of the first Master Auto Glass Technicians in the country and is proud to still hold that designation today. For over 25 years Bob has practiced his trade to provide professionalism and quality to all his clients and customers. He is the senior member of the NGA's Certification Committee and has served as an expert witness in numerous litigations concerning improper installations.

    Jay Beranek is a NGA Certified Auto Glass Technician and has been involved in the auto glass industry for more than 8 years. jay, while in Arizona, has been the lead technician for two of the largest replacement companies in the country. He has assisted in auto glass training demonstrations at national trade shows. Jay also supplies his expertise to the NGA's Auto Glass Installation Guide as author and technical contributor.
